About IIC

As per directions from the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, HLM Group has established the Institution's Innovation Cell to systematically foster a culture of innovation in the college. The primary mandate is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes during their formative years.

HLM envisions encouraging the creation of Institution's Innovation Councils (IICs) to promote innovation through multiple modes — leading to an innovation-promotion ecosystem on the HLM campus.

Major Focus of IIC

  • To create a vibrant local innovation ecosystem.
  • Start-up / entrepreneurship supporting mechanism at HLM.
  • Prepare the institute for the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA).
  • Establish a functional ecosystem for scouting and pre-incubating ideas.
  • Develop better cognitive ability amongst technology students.

Functions of IIC

  • Promote innovation in the institution through multitudinous modes leading to an innovation-promotion ecosystem on campus.
  • Conduct innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by Central MIC in a time-bound fashion.
  • Identify and reward innovations and share success stories.
  • Organise periodic workshops / seminars / interactions with entrepreneurs, investors and professionals and create a mentor pool for student innovators.
  • Network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organisations.
  • Create an Institution's Innovation portal to highlight innovative projects carried out by faculty and students.
  • Organise hackathons, idea competitions and mini-challenges with industry involvement.
